Two major events for Peruvian tourism industry due to be held next week

With the aim of setting development strategies to further consolidate the sector´s sustainability for the mid and long term, two major events for the Peruvian tourism industry are due to be held next week in the nation´s capital Lima.

Around 500 official guides of tourism from within the Andean nation and abroad will be gathering during next week´s 17th National Congress of Tourist Guides and the 2nd Latin American Congress of Official Guides of Tourism.

Both conferences will be held simultaneously from Monday, May 26 through Friday May 30 at Lima´s National Museum, headquarters of the country´s Culture Ministry.

Among the topics expected to be addressed at the meetings stand out the profile of the Latin American tourist and the law of the official tour guide and its implementation in Lima´s luxury tourism sector.

Likewise, the five-day events will feature keynote speeches on the strengthening of tourism guilds, tourist psychology in the twenty-first century and digital marketing of the official tour guide, among others.

Peru´s Deputy Tourism Minister, Jose Miguel Gamarra, along with the Director of Tourism at Peru´s Export and Tourism Promotion Agency (PromPeru), Maria del Carmen Reparaz, are set to be keynote speakers at this year´s gatherings.
