The largest pilgrimage of indigenous nations of the Americas. More than 10,000 people arrive in Sinakara, at the base of Ausangate Mountain (6,362 masl), to worship a painting of the Baby Jesus. The climb of a group of strong Queros to the snow-capped summit to seek the Star of the Snow (Qoyllur Rit’i) in the mountain’s heart is extremely symbolic. Location: Sinakara (4,700 masl), District of Ocongate, Province of Quispicanchi.
